SAISON 2017 - 2018

 

 

Fall 2017

Students from the three francophone school districts grades 3 to 5, as well as those grades 6 to 8 will benefit from two-day workshops in choral singing, thanks to a collaborative effort of the Louisbourg Choir and the Université de Moncton Music Department. The workshops will cover a variety of musical styles: Popular, Jazz, World Music, etc.  This project is part of the choir’s outreach program.

Concert – Solstice

Louisbourg Choir and Nicole Jordan, soprano

 

The Louisbourg Choir will be joined by soprano Nicole Jordan for this concert, celebrating the magic of Christmas and the arrival of the winter solstice.  This artist is originally from Nova Scotia and is now living in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.  In her process of creation, she breathes new life in tales and stories through voice, dance, and other art forms.  We invite you to come enjoy fresh and renewed Christmas classics, spiced up to charm you and put you in the holiday spirit.

The Louisbourg Choir and Nicole Jordan will be accompanied by cellist Lydia Mainville, Spanish guitarist Steven Peacock, and percussionist Michel Deschênes.

March 2017

 

Concert  – Musical bouquet

The Louisbourg Choir and orchestra, conducted by Monique Richard.

For its spring concert, the choir will offer a bouquet of subtle musical fragrances that will take you to a universe of beauty and harmony spanning different eras, featuring works by Beethoven, Rheinberger, Fauré, Lauridson, Arvo, Pärt and Gjuilo.  On this occasion, the choir will be accompanied by a string quartet and pianist Carl Philippe Gionet, thereby enhancing this choral exploration of classical, romantic and contemporary composers.
