For the second year in a row, students from grades 3 to 8 from several school districts will be able to attend workshops in choral singing in a joint effort by the Louisbourg Choir and the Université de Moncton’s music department. The workshops will feature a wide variety of musical styles: popular, jazz, world music, etc. This project is part of the choir’s outreach project.

After having collaborated together for the concert and for the production of the CD titled Chansons d’amour d’Acadie et de France, the Louisbourg Choir and the Skye Consort will revive the singular character and beauty of songs inspired by the sea. Added to the program will be the most beautiful love songs from the traditional Acadian repertoire.

Marc-Antoine Charpentier is the undisputed master of sacred music in France. The choir will perform his mass Missa Assumpta est Maria and the Litanies de la Vierge. The choir will be accompanied by 8 musicians who specialize in ancient music:
